Hey All,

My wife and I are going to be purchasing a sailing catamaran in the relatively near future and are looking for somewhere to dock her since we don't currently live on the water. Needs to be west of the 41 bridges.

Size wise we're looking at from ~34' long and 14' wide to around 38' long and 20' wide. Ideally there would be water and electric at the dock to facilitate cleaning and maintenance on the boat occasionally but that isn't a deal breaker. The PGI area would be ideal but we're flexible anywhere in the Charlotte Harbor Area or along the gulf near Englewood/Venice/etc. We're open to a 12-24 month lease for the right space.

If you have something that might be a fit or know someone that does, please reach out. You can email me mklukas -at- gmail-dot-com or Call/Text +1 763 229 6141

Best Regards
Matt & Kelsey

I know you said, your looking for a dock, but I thought Id just put this out there...
Hubby and I were into sailboats when we first moved to Florida. We owned about 10 different pocket cruisers.
In some of our old sailing guide books LIVE OAK POINT is designated as a Coast Guard defined anchorage.
To many times nowadays they are trying to get into your pocket and make you tie to a mooring.
We kept many different sailboats free of charge at the LIVE OAK POINT anchorage for years. I still see a few boats out there anchored as I drive over the 41 bridge. We kept a HOBIE CAT out there for a season and nobody ever messed with it. We anchored in 3' ft of water and we'd just walk out to it. ( No dinghy needed )

Anyway, the LIVE OAK POINT Anchorage is that crescent shaped body of water, just to the right as you come over 41 North on the bridge. Its Northside of the bridge where they built the new park a few years ago. In fact I think the name of the park is Live Oak Point Park?? You can anchor out there, free of charge.. Stay far left of the Condo's docks and close to the shoreline. Free parking there and public use bathrooms now too. Dinghy back and fourth and put the dinghy in right on that sandy small beach.
