I contracted with an excavator to do some clearing on our lots. He informed me of an unsafe condition along the street-side of the property, where the overgrown pepper trees are enveloping the power lines. In today's modern "we don't actually need real people answering the phone" world, FPL does not allow any form of communication unless you have an account. Does anyone have a suggestion, FPL or otherwise? A direct number to a real person would work fine. Thanks in advance.

No HOA? FLP (Florida Power?).

This sounds really unsafe. Maybe contact municipal leaders? Even if they aren’t directly responsible, they might be able to direct you towards those who are.

It appears feedback can sometimes kick folks into action. The use of automated CS is deliberate in a bad way. Not sure your issue regards KW specifically, I really miss being there.

I have found that googling “phone number to get a real human for - (insert company/service)” can be helpful - sometimes.

Go to their website if there is one. If there is a “chat” feature, use it. It’s annoying and unhelpful - unless it gets you to a person, which can happen. Take photos. A lot of photos. Tell any live human you are able to contact that you have images of this issue. Don’t send pics to them right away. Good luck.

You might want to put a call in to the Public Works department. They generally have a phone number for a real person at the power company. In NH where I lived, the DPW worked with the power companies to keep the lines clear of issues like this. I'd imagine that's the same everywhere. It's in the power companies best interest to remove any problems before they become bigger problems.

If they don't have a number, they'll be able to recommend who to contact at the town to help.

The bolded. Explain the situation (no account). They will contact FPL. They're probably used to it.

Charlotte County sends crews out to trim the invasive pepper trees, along with other vegetation, back away from the road. Give them a call and inquire if they have a crew scheduled for your street.
