Curious to now how much debris from Ian is still in the canals of Port Charlotte and if it presents a hazard to bringing an outboard boat through the canal. We're coming down in about a week and our home is off the Elkcam canal.

I haven't been out since Ian (we're on the Pelham canal) but have seen some outboards come through. I know there is a metal shed (ours) and some neighbor's boat lift frames missing as well as all the canvas from the boat lifts missing. The current was running so strong after the storm I'm sure most of these items went down stream. I wouldn't hesitate to go as long as keeping a watchful eye, don't go out during the blow out tides we've been having for the past couple days, have insurance and towing paid up as well. Good luck and let us know how you make out. Thx
