There is less light in the world because Tippy Toes has left it.
She was born feral not quite 2 years ago. She was orphaned at 4 weeks old. I trapped the liter, socialized them, and found homes for the others. Nobody wanted Tippy Toes because she was black. She became a member of the family.
Here she is as a baby
And this is the beautiful creature she grew up to be
Tippy Toes was my first ever kitten. She was constantly frustrating and highly entertaining at the same time.
Last Monday night she bolted out the back door when I took Shadow out before bed. She loved being out at night, hunting for moles in the field. She was tearing around the yard, climbing trees, jumping down on the dog, saying "ppprrrrrrrttttttt!!!", and having a grand time the last time I saw her.
Tuesday morning when I got up there was a "gift" of a field mouse in front of the garage, but no sign of TT. I found her Wednesday evening when I got home from work.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Such a gorgeous girl, I remember the photo of her in pearls. It's such a shame her life was so short, but because of you it was much better than it would have been.
I just picked up her ashes and the hurt is fresh all over again.
Chickrae, I have no proof but my gut tells me that Shadow (my dog) killed her. Shadow has a tremendous prey drive and TT loved to dart around in the darkness. When I found her my thought process was "NONONONONONONONONONONO! Tippy Toes, NO! Oh, Shadow how could you?" It has made this a whole lot worse.

Oh my gosh, wouldn't he have known it was her by her scent maybe?
My neighbors keep saying a dog killed out cat, but I am pretty certain it was this feral cat that started coming around about a month ago. The animal shelter said they had never heard of cats killing each other. I guess I will never know.
Its a sad time, my thoughts are with you. She was really a beautiful cat.
