Last week, 5 days after she was diagnosed with lung cancer, my 9 year old Belgian Malinois Zoe had to be put to sleep. She was my first dog of my adult life, so this has been very hard. What gets me through it is that I know she is running wildly at the bridge with all the other sweet dogs and cats and bunnies and ferrets (and other pets) who were already there. One day she will be waiting for me.

Here she is just 6 weeks before she died:

I am so sorry for your loss of Zoe. She was truly beautiful. Rest assured that you will see her again. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am sure that our Simon met her at the Bridge because he loved to run also.

We are so sorry for your loss. Zoe was so strikingly beautiful! I agree, Zoe will be awaiting you to join her one day. In the mean time, don't be surprised if you catch brief glimpses of her or sense her presence. I'm sure she will be lovingly near you more often than not.

Cmacf1, my heart went right into my throat when I saw the wild and free Zoe. You keep this picture of her close to your heart for this is how she really is RIGHT NOW, running, wild and free in paradise, doing what she loved best! She is your heartbeat, that no one can take from you, and with each beat your heart makes, it is a reminder that Zoe is still very much alive and with you.

May the Angels of Compassion hold you tenderly as you grieve for your Zoe in this World. She is waiting for you in the next World, and before you know it, she and you will be running side by side!

(((HUGS)))
