My parents sent out family 10 yr old cocker spaneil over the bridge today.
on friday night charlie stopped acting like himself, by sunday morning he was refusing to eat and vomiting...
the vet found a mass on his liver and a MASSIV infection.
IV antibiotics and fluids perked him up yesterday and he got to come home last night, today however he slid back down hill.

he was euthanized in the arms of my dad and brother...

he was in a great deal of pain and nothing short of divine intervention could have repaired the damage that whatever this infection had done in less than a week.
they decide it was kinder to let him drift to sleep peacefully than put him through more tests and stress with not helpfull answers...

we will miss you charlie boy!

charlie had a great HEALTHY life as a pupy mill rescue, not a sick day in it
he was a big ole tedy bear and let the cats play with his floppy ears and never once turned a growl on the chihuahuas when they took his toys or pushed him away from the food bowl...

i hope the bridge has a good set of stairs as charlies favorite game was to lay at the top and drop the ball down then if alone hed chase it the enitre way before repeating, if someone was with him hed demand they give it a good toss so he could catch it at the top...

Love you Charlie!

sounds like a very special dog.

Thanks to your parents for taking on a puppy mill dog, and for having the love and strength to know when to say good by. Not easy.
