Sorry to hear about your kitty. It's hard- but it does get better with time. It's only been a few weeks since I lost my boy- but I can now speak about him without crying the entire time...but I will tear up still.
I lost my cat Ella in July. She and I were really close, and I am having a difficult time adjusting. I am so happy that we have another cat (Toby) to help me, and he seems to know what I'm feeling. Cats are wonderful animals. They always seem to be deeply aware of what you are feeling, and they respond accordingly.
Toby and Ella were never friends, each simply ignoring the other. When he did realize she was gone, Toby looked everywhere for her, even looked into the two bathtubs. ( Honest! ) I admit that I had to sit through a couple of choruses of "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead", but he finally managed to hide his glee. He now does his best to cheer us up. In fact you can almost time his visits with both my partner and with me as we watch TV in the evening, 20 minutes with me and 20 minutes with my partner, back and forth.
I'm still in "mourning" but I'm sure I'll feel better. You will, too.
So sorry for your loss. I believe she is now running the great catnip fields of the sky, happy and healthy, with lots of new friends. My Katrina and Buster were there to greet her. <<hugs>>
