So sorry for your loss. I believe she is now running the great catnip fields of the sky, happy and healthy, with lots of new friends. My Katrina and Buster were there to greet her. <<hugs>>

After four days I hope some happy looks back are moving in on the overwhelming sadness.
Mourning has no timetable and definitely doesn't follow a logical sequence in one direction. A day of profound grief can follow ten of joyful nostalgia. It's what's normal.
Weasie left me in January '12 after nineteen adventurous and happy years. Her successors moved in later that year - Blaliko at the end of May and Seteria (Blaliko's daughter) in mid-July. The "grrrrlz" are markedly different from the cat who preceded them, in appearance as well as personality. Yet after all this time I still have slips of the tongue now and then - I call one of the newer feline housemates by the name of the one who was here before. There are of course worse occasions on which to goof up a lady's name. But it makes me feel awkward regardless, no matter that the cat being addressed couldn't care less.

All of this is to say, there's no "getting over" a loss like this, and you never completely "move on" either. Things do get better as the months pass. And there's zero doubt in my mind that it's better to have loved and lost than...you know the rest.
