We had to put our beautiful Collie to sleep this afternoon. Her name was Ginger, but my nephew nicknamed her "Love Walking" a few years back when he took care of her while we were on vacation. Ginger would have been 14 years old in just two weeks. For a Collie, that would have been over 100 years old. She was truly the sweetest, most gentle, loving, affectionate dog that ever lived and I will miss her immensely. Rest in peace, Ginger. I'll be looking forward to seeing you again.

So sorry for your loss of Ginger. It hurts every time we have to let one of our fur friends go. I just let my Chelsea go on the 19th of September and it still hurts every day. I miss her more than the four dogs that preceded her. Not all dogs are special, my Chelsea was a special dog. I was lucky to have her in my life and no dog can ever replace her. She, like your Ginger was a gentle dog, people called her sweetheart and Angel and being part Jack Russell, she milked every bit of cute she had. Time will heal your pain and mellow your memories.
I love collies. I grew up with them and my parents had their last one until about 20 years ago.
Because of the heat, we have Shelties so I can relate. Ginger will meet our Rascal (RIP 05/11/2001), Pepper (RIP 06/26/2005) and our very beloved Murphy (RIP 02/18/2013) - see my profile for his picture. He was almost the size of a collie but he was such a wonderful, wonderful boy.
Ginger looks like a doll. Her picture made me yearn for my old collies - I've always had tri-shelties so I love her coat.
So sorry for your loss. I believe she is now running the great fields of the sky, hapopy and healthy, with lots of new friends. My Pete and Alixe were there to greet her. <<hugs>>
