I am heartbroken for you. I know how much you loved her.
If it matters, you can contact whatever veterinary school is near you and get a necropsy.
I lost a Papillon to adrenal failure. It was very fast, about 2 hours start to finish and she died in the car on the way to the vet's. I had a necropsy, so I know the cause of death.
The only other Papillon I ever had die unexpectedly and young has a very slight wheeze at bedtime and I thought, "if that isn't better in the morning, I will take her to the vet". She died in the night, and really never appeared to be sick at all.The wheeze was so slight that I only heard it when I had my ear to her side, and had to listen for awhile because I wasn't sure I was hearing anything.
You won't know why without the necropsy. Because I have lost two with such minimal warning, I know that you didn't miss anything that should have warned you to take her to the vet.
Oh no! I'm so sorry, especially to have lost two in 3 months. What a shock for you. These little butterflies have so much personality and charm, they leave a huge hole when we lose them. I lost my heart Pap Sept. 2 and bawled daily until this week when I took in a Pap foster for a week.
The loss of a friend is always so sad. I hope you are able to grieve, and remember that Lady Bug is always really with you. As long as you keep her in your heart, she lives on. Prayers to you and your beloved feline friend.
Thanks Everyone.... I miss them both. Yesterday I was talking to the Cat Forum folks about getting a cat... Lady Loves Cats she would play with the feral kittens & cats around the apt complex.
I am so sorry to hear this. What a horrible shock, and devastating loss. I know there are no words....
