Rainbow Bridge Poem

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours.

Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies , the pet goes to this special place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather.

The old and frail are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again.

They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing.

They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.

So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up !

The nose twitches !

The ears are up !

The eyes are staring !

And this one suddenly runs from the group !

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and embrace.

Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated

Thanks for posting the poem. As for myself, those words couldn't have come at a better time and it was a healing and peaceful reassuring affirmation we will bond together again.

I have that framed in my house. It is one of the most touching things I have ever seen. And one of the most promising. Thanks for posting it here where we all need it.

Default The Rainbow Bridge

In the past 6 yrs 5 of (oldest was 15) my cats have died from kidney failure. It wont be too long until another one of my cats crosses the rainbow bridge. She will be pain free & see her other cat mates. Dying is natural & it will soon be her time. I currently have 5 adult cats & i will not get any more animals. This had been VERY tough. Everyone who has lost a pet knows what its like. I live alone & my cats are my family. Moderator cut: website

I love this old Will Rogers quotation:

"If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die, I want to go where they went".

Here is something I got that was on an email regarding animal rescue. I just love this

An Indian legend says: " When a human dies there is a bridge they must cross to enter into Heaven. At the head of the bridge waits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime. The animals, based on what they know of this person, decide which humans may cross the bridge...and which are turned away."

I saw that you have this in this stream - I posted this quote to my facebook and an idiot said they didn't believe it was an Indian Legend and wants to know from where, blah blah blah. Before I tell him to KISS OFF, I was wondering if you had any idea of its origins???

Thanks! Cara
