I'm so sorry for your loss...I know how much it hurts. She is free now, and her spirit is grateful for the love you gave her in life. When the time came for her to cross the bridge you were not selfish, you let her go in peace...for this, too, her spirit is grateful.

In my belief system, she is now running the great catnip fields of the sky, happy and healthy, with lots of new friends. My Katrina was there to meet her and romp. Hugs.

Thank you, all. I didn't cry as much today; I simply feel.....heartsick. Each day will get better, I know (if only the ugly gray weather would go away!)

My sister drove us and stayed with me, and I am ever so grateful, as I couldn't have gone alone. It is a rare sunny day, and the Room was filled with sun. She passed peacefully in my arms, in the sunshine she loved so much. My grief is overwhelming to the point of pain right now, but I know it will get better. Thank you all for the support you've given me in my other thread. It means the world.

From a cat........

When humans die, they make a will
To leave their homes, and all they
Have to those they love.

I too would make a will, if I could write.
To some poor, wistful, lonely stray
I'd leave my happy home,
My dish, my cozy bed, my cushioned chair, my toy,
The well-loved lap,
The gently stroking hand,
The loving voice,
The place I made in someone's heart,
The love, that at the last
Could help me to a peaceful, painless end
Held in loving arms.

If I should die,
Oh! Do not say:
"No more a pet I'll have
To grieve me by its loss."
Seek out some lonely, unloved cat
And give my place to him.
This is my legacy,
The love I leave behind,
'Tis all I have to give.

Farewell, my humans, yet not farewell,
Where I go you too shall dwell.
I am gone before your face,
A moment's time, a little space.
When you come where I have stepped,
You will wonder why you wept.

Thank you, =^..^=, and how beautiful! In time, we WILL get another cat, an adult who will win themselves a home with love beyond belief! Meanwhile, the two I have, Astra and Cashew, are getting LOTS of lovin'. My pillow is SO empty without Orea there every night. That is the hardest part....

I'm so sorry to hear about Orea. Orea was a lucky cat to have had such a warm, caring and loving mom. Cherish the time you had with your furbaby. I'm sure Astra and Cashew are missing Orea also. When the time is right Orea will send a needy cat your way since she knows this needy cat will have an excellent home. Orea will be waiting for you one day and in the meantime is young, healthy again and running all over those sunny fields. My best to you.

The empty space left by a pet that has passed is the worst part of it all Even now, when my cats have had to spend the night at the vet's, I feel so lonely and empty...I'm sorry that you're having to feel this way!!! And I dread that it will eventually happen to me. But I'm so glad for your sake that you have two other sweeties to comfort you and make you smile. *hugs*
