If I do accept the job in Raleigh, the attached map shows where I would be working. Does anyone happen to know of a decent apartment, mobile home, room share etc? I am looking to spend no more than around $650 per month. Something within about a 30 minute drive.

Look in Clayton and Johnston County area...

Also Wendell, Archer Lodge and west part of Knightdale (though that is in Wake County)

The 40/42 (Cleveland area) is a quick communte to downtown. That is the Garner (JoCo side), Willow Springs area as well.

There should be a few options around $650 month to rent. Might even look at a room while you are here alone.

I did that and it allowed me to check out the area for possible rental houses...

Look at the CraigsList Housing board.

Why go all the way to Johnson County, Knightdale, etc., when you can live downtown -- close to your work?

Try: The Raleigh Apartments

I live very close to where you will be working, and I second lovebrentwood's suggestion of Raleigh Apartments. You could easily walk or bike to work from there, and the location is great. There are a few other apartment communities in the same vicinity that are a bit older and might suit your price range.

I'd bet you could probably find other apartments or rooms in your price range within walking/biking distance to work on craigslist as well.

For all the money you'd save on gas by not commuting, you might even be able to raise the upper limit of your rent budget. That is, unless you want to be in a more rural setting.
