Planet Fitness....really cannot beat the no contract $10 a month price there. There is one behind the Carmax on 70.

There is a relatively new Lifestyle Fitness just off US1 South, just south of I540.

The Y is the only one that comes to mind in WF. There is also Granite Falls in Rolesville. Both Golds and O2Fitness are less expensive and relatively close. All four are nice facilities.

I can't speak for Planet Fitness, as I've never been a member. But, I haven't heard anything bad about the place.

Rex Wellness center is very nice, good place to work out, has classes and an indoor salt water pool. No kids allowed, which many people like. It is located off of forest pines drive, near the harris teeter in wakefield area.

I agree with Rex Wellness center. I have been going there this year during my stay in Wake Forest this summer. In the past I have gone to the YMCA in Wakefield which is nice also. However, Rex does not get crowded and like mentioned above, no kids. Rex has a friendly staff and the facilities are well taken care of. I would like to add that Rex also seems to have lots of exercises classes scheduled. On one of my visits on Saturday morning while I was there there was a spinning class going on, a type of hip hop aerobics class also going on in another room. About an hour after the spinning class there was an aerobics kickboxing class starting. A few times I have seen water aerobics or water exercise classes going on in the pool and therapy pool as well.
