Wake County unemployment rate unchanged in May (Durham: business, counties)

the headline is positive but the reality is that only 84 fewer people were unemployed during May compared to April. Still better than 84 fewer jobs, but shows how slow the jobs recovery is. Compared to May 2009 unemployment is down by 2181 from 8.6% to 8.0%. I'm glad that the rate dipped in May. I'm also glad those 84 people in Wake County were able to find work! While the recovery may be slow, I still think any improvement is a good thing. It's going to take awhile for things to improve, just like it took awhile for things to deteriorate.

Maybe I'm just one of those "the glass is half full" types.
