I'll be moving to Wake Forest the weekend before Fourth of July. My husband has been in the area for a while so we are slowly getting to know the area. Am I correct that Wake Forest's July Fourth celebration is on the
3rd? If I'm right does anyone have any recommendations for a good viewing spot of the fireworks? We would just probably come out for the fireworks show. We are spoiled from were we are moving from...we could sit and watch the town fireworks from our front yard. But I am excited to start a new tradition in NC! I would love any suggestions on firework shows on the Fourth as well...places with not too much traffic and some good viewing spots as well. Thanks!

The fireworks are at Trentini Stadium at Wake Forest High School. The town's website says they will be the 3rd.

We normally go to the ones in Raleigh. They tend to have Christian/Gospel concerts beforehand at the one in Wake Forest. Not my cuppa. But I see that this year they've added Beach music....so I just might change our families tradition and stay in town. (I think they got some complaints that it catered to the Seminary crowd and not anyone else recently.)

The Art-in-the-Park and Games-in-the-Park are scheduled for Wednesday, July 4. Those are at Holding Park.

E-News - Wake Forest, NC as some of the details....and is always a good place to check for news like this.

We attended the fourth celebration in wake forest, and it was actually a lot of fun! We had little kids (4 and 2 at the time) and they had fun things for the kids , and good music for them to dance to and the fireworks were not so loud that it scared them. My only recommendation is bring the bug spray!!!

Default 2008 Fireworks

Will there be fireworks in Wake Forest in July 4th 2008? I can't find anything on the town website about it.

A few years ago we came at the last minute - thinking we could park on the hill across from WF cemetary and catch the fireworks - bad idea. We couldn't see a thing (low fireworks if that makes any sense). Other people did the same thing - we were all disappointed and we still had to deal with the horrible traffic jam afterwards..

There may be other places in town to view the fireworks without actually going to the stadium...... certainly not the hill by the cemetary... come to think of it.. some people actually went inside the cemetary... maybe tey know something we didn't know??

This year we'll go early.. pay admission - enjoy the preshow (usually a band - but I need to check the website entertainment . mingle... get a snowcone or two... and make an evening of it.

This event just keeps getting bigger and better each year.

We've watched the Town fireworks from 2 locations - the first at the Lowe's Foods shopping center on Capital (could just barely see them - but there were a TON of other people there, so we thought we had chosen wisely) and last year we parked in one of the Seminary parking lots near Main and walked over the the hill across the street from the high school - perfect vantage point! (we brought chairs, which I highly recommend)

Yes, they are on the 3rd - so if you really like fireworks, you can go see Raleigh or Cary's on the 4th (you can see Raleigh's from a far-far distance on Capital Blvd near the SuperTarget - we saw them last year as we were driving - I wouldn't recommend stopping).

We went to the celebration on the 3rd last year at the HS...we loved it. They had music early on, the snacks were down right cheap and the sky divers were fun to watch. I don't remember any gospel or church music...we would not have liked that either..there was a band of older guys playing music from the 60's and 70's. They were entertaining. We plan on going back this year.

The high school stadium is neat !!! It was the football stadium for the former Wake Forest University before the college relocated to Winston Salem in the 1950's. At some point Wake County bought it.

The Wake Forest HS stadium is uniquie... its set back from the school - near the woods. It has an old timey press box.. in my opinion, its the nicest high school football field in this area !!!!!
