I couldn't get a decent rate for Residence Inn or Embassy Suites. I thought Homewood Crabtree would be good because of the location. But I ended up going with Homewood Durham/Chapel Hill at the AAA rate of $138 a night.

When we have to stay in a hotel and can't find a good suite situation, we get two adjoining hotel rooms. It's generally not more expensive than a suite, especially if you stay near an airport.

I had thought of two adjoining rooms. And some of them would have been the same price for two rooms as a suite. But I felt like the kids wouldn't be as safe and secure with the door shut between the adjoining rooms. I feel like I wouldn't be able to hear well enough. I'm a little paranoid since my home and car have been broken into before.
