I would look into Morrisville. Nice homes, reasonable prices, traffic not too bad and pretty good schools. Close to RTP and everything else as well.

Check out Johnston County, Clayton and Garner area, short commute to RTP via I-40, brother in law does it no prob. Much more house for the money and larger lots. 15 min. to downtown Raleigh from this area. Good luck.

RoseyPosey,

Do you happen to know which subdivision your brother-in-law is in?

I am moving from MA to NC in the next few months. My husband will be working in RTP. I am looking for a development or nice neighborhood in Clayton as close to RTP as I can get. I believe that living on the southeast side he will run into a lot more traffic. If you (or anyone else out there) knows of a good location in northern or western clayton, with houses in the 200's, good schools and easy commute to RTP, we'd appreciate the input . . .

I don't think you can say 'short commute' and I-40....certainly not while the construction is going on....not sure it will get that much better when it's done.

We have several folks at work that make this commute....it's not uncommon for their 45 minute commute to turn into double that. (Thankfully we have an understanding GM for the most part.)

That's the beauty of Morrisville, you can avoid I 40 all together if you want to!

That is what I think about my commute from Wake Forest!! I just want to avoid 40 (and 70 to a lesser degree) if at all possible.
