Just a simple question (since I know I can just run to the brewery and get them) but:
Does anyone know if there are any places around Cameron Village open during the daytime that would have Big Boss, specifically Bad Penny 6-packs for sale that are NOT in a cooler? I just don't have time before a road trip tomorrow for much searching & it'll be inconvenient to hit up the brewery tonight. The HT & Peace st. Market are both selling them cold but I want to bring some home for friends and don't want the cold-warm-cold cycle to affect the beer.

It won't. . . at least not enough that you're going to notice.

Now. . . . if you were to let them sit out in the sun on a hot parking lot for an hour. . . then you may notice a difference.

I'm an amateur beer judge.

Is there a Total Wine nearby? They have some of the Big Boss brews on the shelf.

I think Seaboard Wine Warehouse sells unrefridegerated 6-Packs of Big Boss Beer. They are just a few minutes down the road from Cameron Village (By Logan's Nursery near the intersection of Peace Street and Wilmington Street). I would give them a call to make sure they have it in stock.

The Whole Foods location on Wade Ave. may have it. I see Big Boss 6 packs in many Whole Foods locations. I have no idea if they sell it "uncold".

Would a 12h car ride matter? One of the people I'm giving them to is a professional sommelier so I'm going out of my way to not screw 'em up.

Just got off the phone with them & yes they have both refrigerated & what they call the "dry rack" for "if you're taking them on a trip or something". Exactly what I was looking for - thanks for the tip & even better it's on my way to 40W tomorrow morning!

Well if your THAT concerned about it, buy it fresh from the brewery and ice it down for the entire 12 hour drive.

No telling how long that beer has set on the grocery store shelf under the bright lights. . . . or on their warehouse loading dock, etc.

And besides. . . . if he's a professional sommelier, then he probably drinks more wine than beer and won't be able to tell anyway
