For the OP: once you call and say you want to cancel your TWC RR access, you'll find that you can get a better rate on your Internet. You might be able to drop down to $29.95 for standard high speed broadband for the next 6 to 12 months. Something to think about to lessen that monthly bill without having to change service.
Or... I could change services and pay $15 - 20 a month for 12 months.
Honestly, our biggest reason for thinking about switching isn't due to costs. We're putting in DirectTV, and discovered that our house only has TWO cable outlets. To put one tv upstairs and one downstairs, and keep cable internet - we'd need 3 outlets. We can put in a 3rd drop, but we'd really like to have it upstairs. Instead of dealing with a more complicated drop, we decided to see if there were other options.
Also, we've been SO aggravated with TWC since May with dealing with faulty DVR hardware and such and fighting for credits for DVR boxes that don't work... that we'd be estatic to not give the company any of our business.
I didn't realize you mean't he was t'ing off your line. It could make a very very slight change in performance, but honestly that is not the problem most likely. If he splits off your line, he has to have his own router, etc. Chances are even if he is doing this the bandwith the line can do, is more than the both of you can even take. For instance, you probably have about 5mb/sec download speed (depends on your tier), and if he had the same, that isn't even closing to max out what the lines they have are able to support. They can honestly support 20mb/sec fairly easily if TWC wanted to do this, although they cap users much lower than this. Sounds like TWC maybe just giving you the run around.
