Computer repair recommendations?? (Raleigh: buy, money, company)

Hi there, I have a desktop that is acting up and I'd like to have someone take a look at it (I'd rather avoid the big box stores). I know a little about computers but I would like it checked out.

For those who may be computer literate, my Dell e510 has been flashing an amber light and will not power on. This happened after we lost power. From what I'm reading it could be the power supply unit or the motherboard. I'd swap out the PSU if I knew for sure that was the problem, but I'm not 100% certain and I'd rather not spend the money and find out it was something else.

I highly recommend Tech Wizards. I've had excellent service from them on two occasions, once I brought my computer to them and another time they came out to location. They're in North Raleigh. Just by chance I chose a good place without an original recommendation from anyone!

Power supplies are fairly inexpensive. If you are lucky, you (or a friend) may work at a larger company that is upgrading and has older models to be recycled. Wake County has a recycling site for people to drop off old computers. Maybe they will let you "borrow" a PS from one.

If you want to pay someone, check out Intrex. They have several locations in the area.

I happened to have had a similar issue with a Dell E510 several months ago and ended up swapping out the PSU since it had gone bad. I'd try to get a PSU from someone else, or do a buy and return from someplace to see if that's the problem first.
