it should be on ABC11 Eyewitness News this evening. A silver Mercedes drove off the road into the lake. As I walked around the lake they were securing the car to the recovery truck and the Police and Firecrews were just finishing up. Someone mentioned that the driver was rescued by a local resident so thumbs up to them

I never believed such a thing could happen there - just goes to show and, maybe now, they will install steel barriers as they have on Green Level Church at the end of the lake.

I can't believe we missed that this afternoon! I'm glad the driver is OK.

Do you really think steel barriers are needed? Perhaps if people slowed down a bit through there it would help.

having watched the item on TV News they mentioned the driver had a medical issue which caused the car to roll down the hill into the lake. Luckily no one was sitting there fishing as ocasionally is the case.

nice picture someone took of the car being recovered - it should help in explaining to the insurance company

I have yet to figure out exactly where this incident took place and the photo in this article does not help. Was the car somewhere near the finished/unfinished condos? Does Walford continue on the other side of Cary Glen? I'm confused.

Cary News seems a little slow on the uptake tonight...
