They are there, and so are a lot of hunters. The majority of the land surrounding the lake that is not designated for camping and day use, is game land. That's one of the reasons they don't want people camping "wherever".

My family has me convinced I can't catch a snake (I've seen "Funny Farm" way too many times!). I dont know what I would do if I caught an eel. Probably drop dead on the spot, lol. I'll have to remember to tell my family about the night fishing. Of course, they are on their own for that one!

If you ever fish at Jordan there's a very good chance you'll catch an eel or two. However the lake has some great Hybrid Stiper fishing as well. Course the down side is you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a water skier or jet skier. I try and go in the dead of winter as the fishing is still good and you don't have to deal with the bugs, etc when camping.....

I went fishing for the first time two weeks ago and I was so freaked out about catching a snake, that when I finally did get a bite, I threw my pole at my friend and went and hid!!! I just knew a snake was going to come flying out of that water!

Thanks for the heads up! I think I'll stick to fishing at the state fair where the only scary thing is the plastic fish or the fair operator...
