If you have fescue, don't forget to add lime. It's almost impossible to add too much lime in NC. Not sure of the rules for Bermuda and pH. I'd check the cooperative extension or NC State TurfFiles.

I went in with a few neighbors today and rented an aerator for the day. The rental was $80 for the day (from sunbelt rentals) and there were 4 of us so it only cost $20 a pop. The ground was pretty dry so it didn't pull the best plugs, but I ran the aerator this way and that way until I had essentially aerated that snot out of my yard to make some good soils to seed contact. I also scalped my lawn with a real low cut first. Just finished spreading the seed and watered. Here's hoping we get some rain this week so I don't have to water each day for the next two weeks!

Our yard pretty much looks like the before picture. We did some landscaping this summer and discovered grubs, lots of em! So we put down some grub killer a few weeks ago. Not sure if it did the trick or if we need another treatment but probably should do another one just to be sure. We also want to put down Milky Spore and get that process going to eventually be rid of those nasty critters once and for all. We know we need to aerate and reseed. My question is what steps should we take first? Our front yard gets full sun all day long until it start to set in the evening. So...what, when, and how? Thanks!
