What is the normal maximum on closing? We are purchasing new construction that is almost complete, will we get more than 90 days??

Probably not. I bought a new house that had to be built from the ground up in Charlotte and it has taken only 4 months. If your home is already completed, you will be closing soon. Start buying packing tape and moving boxes!!

Your contract will specify the date of closing. Typically in new construction, the builder's contract protects him. For example, it may say that the buyer must close within 14 days of completion or have to pay the builder a set amount. However, if the builder is late in closing, past the estimated date, the buyer doesn't get the same. Funny how the builder's contract protects the builder!
