Does anyone have a recommendation for a romantic hotel setting - like something for an anniversary or special evening?

Looking for something within 30-40 miles from Raleigh.

Check out: 'The Fearrington House' it's near Chapel Hill. The accommodations are quaint & the gourmet dinner is outstanding.

Fearrington House is a great choice.

We spent an anniversary at The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, which is nice since you can hit a great restaurant, have a bottle of wine, and walk back to the hotel. We especially like spending time in Chapel Hill when school is out of session.

Fearrington House and Carolina Inn are both really good choices. ALso check out Oakwood Inn in DT Raleigh and I've heard great things about the Fuquay Mineral Springs Inn (B&B).

Yup, Fearrington is the place for everything you need. We go there for our anniversary every year. Its very much on the pricey side of things but they do offer seasonal specials. Check out their web site.
