Looking for quiet neighborhood within 45 minute commute of RTP. Single family homes, villas, and/or townhouses would be ideal. Prefer neighborhood with primarily mature professionals. I'm wanting to move next summer so need to start looking for that perfect neighborhood now. Would love to hear any input on great neighborhoods that fit that bill. Many thanks!
I'd say that the entire Triangle area is within 45 minute drive of RTP.
I like those townhomes on the golf course in Preston (Crabtree Crossing Pkwy). Not sure of the name as I've only walked/driven by. I have no idea what the demographics of the neighborhood are. . .and you'd have to be content with a bit of airplane noise.
Are you 55 or over? if so, Del Webb has a nice patio home community in Cary, can't remember the name, but search for the builders name, it'll pop up. I saw some homes listed for around $270k when i was looking at homes for sale in Cary/Morrisville.

Those townhomes were selling for 500-600K last yr....not certain what they'd fetch now but much higher than 300K.
That being said, my townhome neighborhood (Stone Creek Village in Cary) is mainly comprised of young to middle aged professionals and retirees. There are a few families with children. It is a smallish development (98 homes) but no amenities like pool etc. There is one listed for $299K and one for 310K. It is a lovely community, walkable to shopping, stores and about 15 minutes to RTP. DM me if you want any more specifics.

That's what I was going to suggest. THey do take a small number of under 55s. My parents live there, the place is UNBELIEVABLE. You can definitely get a home under $300K and you also have privileges at the Amberly subdivision if you get tired of the older folks, LOL. My parents are in their '70s but I know there are a lot of people younger than them there.

I offered her that suggestion 3 1/2 hours prior to her saying that her price range was $300K.
