I live in Cary.

Lifetime Fitness has speakers blaring away throughout the gym at an excessive noise level.

I suspect that it might damage hearing over the long term. I start to hear ringing after exercising there. I doubt that there is any prospect of getting it changed because they are busy selling fitness programs between the songs.

I do have noise-blocking headphones but I would prefer a quiet gym.

Are either of the following 24 hour gyms quiet (or allow turning down the volume if I am using it late at night).

Planet Fitness

or

Anytime Fitness

Thanks,

Don

Anytime fitness off of Kildaire farm rd is definately quiet. Whenever I have checked it out, there were barely 3-4 people during peak times ( 5-6p).

Uh, the OP is asking about volume level of MUSIC there, not how many people are there.

How loud is the music?

Ideally I would like no music.

I go to Anytime at Davis and Morrisville Carpenter. It's quiet. Sometimes there is music, sometimes not. I go really early (5AM) and its great.

I did end up there now, Anytime Fitness at Davis and Morrisville Carpenter.

However I go late at night and the music is too loud for my taste still. It echoes in the empty gym and sound loud.

I wish they would turn it off.

But I can sort of live with it by using ear-sealing earphones.

I go to 02 in Cary and find it pretty quiet. They do have some music playing in the background I don't find it loud at all (actually I wish they woudl turn it up a little!). They also have a cardio escape room where there is no music at all. I don't generally go late at night though so it may seem louder when there are fewer people there? You could always swing by one night and see what you think!

Oh really Cardio Escape sounds interesting if it also allows escape from loud music!

I will have to look at that place again although they close at 10 which is very early for me. I like 24 hours clubs.

There is the plus of the pool next door too although it is sort of a separate membership situation for full pool access.
