I would also recommend the website, chessKIDS academy: learn and play chess online with our free lessons for kids . I am a parent volunteer at my son's chess club at school and this is the site they tell all the kids to go to for practice, etc...

Raleigh Chess Academy is a terrific program! The teachers are really great and they also run programs in many of the local private and public schools.
