My 17 year old is looking for a part time job. She said when she went online, it showed the Food Lion at Strickland Road was hiring. No mention of the one on Lead Mine Road. Seems strange to have so many Food Lions in such a small area. I'm not a big Food Lion fan but I will check out the new one.

There is also a brand new Dollar Tree opening at Falls Village Shopping Center. It is huge. Not open yet but I would think they'd have some openings.

When hubby and I were young and had small kids, we did what we had to do so that I could stay at home with them. He worked a full time job and a part time job and I worked part time in retail.

So, yes, I think that folks that want a job will appreciate those of us that are trying to help instead of those that just find fault in everyone and eveything.

Vicki, I agree with you 100%.....I was working at Macy's only 1-2 days a week and I didn't want to do housekeeping, but I'm doing it now. I am currectly in school to get a better job. I love working in retail and I will do it again....there are some jobs out there, but it might be something you don't want to do at the time, but hey it pays the bills and keep a roof over your head. You got to do what you got to do.

Worked retail for seven years full-time as I put myself through school. Nothing wrong with retail. It was a stable income when several people in "skilled" positions were getting the pink slip.

Don't forget local hospitals. Several opportunites at Rex.
