Any lions or tigers? How about wild pigs? Cows with an attitude?

C'mon. . . . . you were all thinking it, weren't you? One person asks about bugs. Another asks about spiders. A third asks about snakes. I'm beginning to think that the only critters seen outside NC are butterflies and kittens.

LOL...Good post! I often wonder the same thing...I thought that most states have most of those....you know those cows.....trouble...Gary Larson got his material from somewhere!

I did see a garter snake when we put down fresh mulch yesterday. (Why my husband and I waited until one of the hottest days of summer to do it I have no clue...but anyway....) We reburied him lightly in the new mulch...he just wanted to stay cool.

I do think that I heard a pack of coyotes howling last night while I was in my garage tinkering. Just don't let Fifi out after dark

Happens everywhere Saluki_Lover! When I first moved to the Pacific Northwest, my east coast family asked me if I had Moose in my backyard. I think they also wanted to know if I had indoor plumbing but were afraid to ask...

When you read those posts and laugh at the people, its sad because they can have phobias about what they asked about.

Some folks have phobias....yes, those folks should be treated with kindness and understanding.

However, some of these posts are not phobias.....it's simply....well....what state doesn't have sort of bug or wild animal?

I've been reading this board long enough to know not to feed into the negative comments, or those who are attempting to be funny at the expense of others.

If my question had been read correctly, you would have notice that I asked if there are a lot of areas where there are snakes, if people had a problem with them in their back yard, and if there were rattle snakes.

When you've had a snake in your place of employment like I have or if you have been bit by one, like I have, you too would want to know what areas to avoid.
