I stopped by to catch the start of the Christmas Parade downtown this morning. I always find I can get a good view from the grounds around the Capital Building facing down Hillsborough street. There was a very large crowd this year because of the nice weather. Great little parade. Here are a few quick shots.

great pictures I watched the parade on TV rather than going this year because of the expected traffic chaos with westbound I-40 lane closures today and the UNC v NCSU football match, as well as the parade crowds. As you said the nice weather brought the crowds out which is good to see.

Great pics! I was happy to see a couple of Enloe's band. That was a big part of our lives for 4 years! Their arrangement of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" is so much fun!

Was the parade better this time than in year's past? IMO, the parade has turned into one giant commercial.

We were in the parking deck in your last shot. The crowd was huge, easily 5 or 6 deep. We had a great view from above. Here are a few shots I took with my iphone. The quality's not so great, but the balloons were really cool.
