Hi everyone! I was hoping you could help, my parents are coming in for Thanksgiving and want to go out to eat ( I'm sure it's nothing personal about my cooking!). We don't eat out that much so I am unfamiliar with a lot of restaurants. I have read the Thanksgiving threads and I think we are down to a choice of Maggianos or the Angus Barn. I wondered if anyone could give me their opinion of which they thought would be better. We do have 2 kids in our group, 5 and 7, if that makes a difference in restaurant choice. I did talk to Maggianos and I know they do a family style insteat of a buffet. Thanks so much for any help you can give me. I really want to make sure they have a nice time.

Your decision may be very easy... in another thread a poster said that Angus Barn is totally booked.

At this point, I'd take whichever has an available reservation. I would not be surprised if AB is already booked.

We did Maggianos last year for Thanksgiving and had a great time. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Default Maggianos Vs Margauxs

Okay I guess I am a little late coming to the game! You are right, Angus Barn is booked. Now we are looking to decide between Maggianos or Marguaxs. Thanks so much for everyone's responses

Angus Barn is probably the most overrated, overpriced, and aveage rquality places in the State, let alone the Triangle. Its just ridiculous. I do not see how anyone can walk away from their dinners happy with the price they paid for the quality/flavor of their meal. Maybe people just love being given so much excessive food that that must equal really good? Who knows.

I'll disagree. Apparantly since the Angus Barn is already booked for Thanksgiving, others disagree.

My vote is for the Angus Barn as well . And it had nothing to do with the lousy hygene score Maggianos got on WRAL last Friday, but all about a good locally owned well managed restaurant, even if it is a bit expensive. And I just love the Wild Turkey Lounge for pre dinner drinks at the AB.

AB is great -- same prices as the high-end steakhouse chains like Morton's.

I have never eaten at Margaux's on Thanksgiving (they offer a buffet), but in general it's a fine choice
