Three months ago, we finally made the move from Long Island to Cary. We have no regrets, would never go back and when asked what we miss the most, I can honestly say nothing. I’ve found all that I need and more here, but now comes the big decision – where to buy a house. We are currently renting an apartment in West Cary but the area we’re in is not for us. We all seem to enjoy going west on 55 and so far get a really good feeling about Walden Creek. At first we were trying to stay in the Panther Creek school where my daughter is presently enrolled, but now we’re thinking about Apex High and maybe other developments that have that nice, established, country feel. Our price range is nothing above $375,000, and would just want something with a community pool, but other than that, we’re pretty simple! We're open to any advice or suggestions about schools and subdivisions, so any help you could give us would be greatly appreciated. We can't wait to plant our roots and make a house our home, but where!?

Walden Creek is pretty much exactly what you are looking for and was our number one pick to buy in Apex before we had a change of plans and left the area. If you like that neighborhood I'd say stick with it. You might also consider other nearby Apex neighborhoods that are assigned to Panther Creek (at least at last I knew and who knows for how long with whatever is going on down there now with Wake School board) like Abbington, Charleston Village or Montclair; all beautiful northern/western Apex neighborhoods that may have some nice homes in your pricerange. If you are interested in wooded lots and don't mind being a tiny bit further out, you might be able to find something in the small but nice Woodridge subdivision down olive chapel road in Apex too. We rented across the street from there in the Hollands Crossing neighborhood (where, ironically, there were absolutely NO trees whatsoever) and envied Woodridge the whole time!

Thank you I'mnformed2. We actually discovered The Park at West Lake and are considering that area now. You insight on Walden Creek was very helpful though and haven't ruled it out as of yet!

You should be able to do a search for "The Park At West Lake" and find lots of information.

Quite a nice n'hood, in my opinion!

I share your opinion! Just discovered the area a few days ago and we all fell in love with it! This could be home one day!
