So, after talking about moving, my Grandma is intrigued and wants to take a look at Raleigh.

She doesn't drive, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any public transportation available for the elderly? Dial-a-ride, busses, cabs... horse and buggy? kidding... although, that would be fun!

Also, she volunteers at the local hospital... so, I guess another question would be, does anyone know if the hospital offers shuttles for their volunteers?

I'll just throw this in... any neighborhoods that have homes/communities for "active seniors"? I didn't even think to look it up, but perhaps someone has some experience with that.

Thank you!

Many of the more expensive senior communities offer van service.

Check with the county/city. Some have service for seniors but it can be hard to book a ride.
