How common is it for teachers to get their own child into the school where they are working? (i.e.if they do not live in that school-area, but in the same county?)
newmom-I dont teach in JoCo but know many that do-I don't think any had a problem with having their children in the schools where they teach-I think that is one of the benefits with the job-even if you live in Wake Co and want to teach here-
ncmom--THANKS for the response! I actually called the school where I will be working and they said no problem.....HOWEVER, my daughter is special-needs/autistic and the classroom she will most likely need is not housed at the school where I'll teach. Grrrrrr. So it looks like I am back to square 1 and will have to look for alternate ways to drop her off/pick her up(i.e after-care/latch key etc.)
One of my new neighbors just got a job teaching at one of the local schools (though not the one we are districted for). She had the option of letting her kids go to their slated school or taking them with her to where she is going to work.
I'm in Clayton.
