We generally wait for it to get good and deep...right at the 2 inch mark we go door to door and ask if the neighbors need any goodies. And we get a "service" charge for our driving in such trecherous conditions.
I try to stay stocked up but have been out of milk and bread before the past 2 snow storms. Go figure... I'm headed to the grocery store this weekend to stock up for next week.
9-10 gallons?!?!? There's no way I could afford that much milk every week!!!
No over the top stock up here. Usually are fortunate enough to have milk, bread, eggs and cereal on hand. May get some pop tarts just to have on hand. But also keep the necessary dry ingredients around to bake some bread or muffins in a pinch. Speaking of pinch that maybe all we get regarding Monday/Tuesday great snow event. The weather 'what radar?' person said at this point in time it looks like the storm will pass to our north in the Virginia's.
So this weekend I will keeping one eye on the pop tart box, one eye on the forecast, and one hand on the snow shovel, and the other hand mixing the muffin batter. Feet will be planted firmly on the floor as last time I tried to use them and the hands at the same time was on the dance floor....and it wasn't a pretty site!
Happy Friday and remember it only takes 'one flake' to generate a huge snowstorm!!!
Went to Aladdin's on Falls of Neuse (DELICIOUS!!!!! WONDERFUL SERVICE!!!! It's in the plaza where Winston's Grille is; GO! ) and then went to Harris Teeter near Kohl's. Both Aladdin's and Harris Teeter places weren't busy at all.
Groceries included a ton of gluten-free pasta (was time to stock up) polenta (which I've never tried), milk, eggs, and comfort food. Will get fruits and veggies at Sam's Club tomorrow.
(And the 2005 ice storm, if I remember correctly, was a 24-hours-or-so kind of thing. Everything melted pretty quickly. No problem with lack of food. It wasn't a typical ice storm; I don't think anyone lost electricity or anything. Ice didn't stick on trees, it just froze on the roads.)
What IS the Weather Channel saying? Online, it seems to say it'll be far worse further south from Raleigh. What does it say about Raleigh on TV?
