Hi all,
does anyone have an inside scoop on if Wake will be closing the schools tomorrow, or when they might decide? My daughter came home today and said her teacher said they would be closed, but nothing yet on wral...

Thanks!

Since there is nothing really much even coming down yet, there probably won't be a decision until later tonight or tomorrow morning. I think her teacher was just saying wishful thinking. I know that I would love a delay at least.

I am guessing yes if there's ANYthing wet out there b/c it will surely ice up tonight--meaning we'll have a delay at the least. Check the 10pm news or the website right around then.

All the kids came home today declaring tomorrow a snow day, my youngest even claiming that's what his teacher told him. While no one from Wake County has officially commented or will until much later tonight about tomorrow I'd bet this months mortgage payment that I'll not be eating lunch alone tomorrow.

For now, just a 2 hr delay, though I bet that'll change.

If Wake County has school, Greg Fishel will jump in the WRAL fountain!

There is precedence:

Teachers don't know anything about closings or delays until it's announced to WRAL or something similar (I'm a teacher!) I bet it was wishful thinking

Just saw the two hour delay... I guess we'll see what happens as it gets colder.
Thanks, all.

I would keep checking the WCPSS and of course local news outlets, but at this rate, I'm thinking not.

Hope the kids enjoy going to school to make up these days in July :-/
