Hi Everyone,

I am planning on making a move to the Triangle area in the next two weeks. However, I've yet to find a place to rent that is german shepherd (mix) friendly. I think I've looked at almost every apartment complex out there and haven't found any decent ones that suit my needs. Any suggestions? I don't necessarily need to be in a complex--a townhouse or house would be fine too. (A rent-to-own situation would be a plus.) For the sake of my dog, I don't mind a commute, so anywhere in the triangle is fine.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be more than appreciative--I'm getting desperate!

~LW

Try Avalon Peaks in Apex. They do not have breed restrictions and it is a great place to live. I've known a few people who have lived there and they all raved about it. They also have a dog run and I think all the apartments have screened in porches. They even have townhomes and cottages for rent. Good luck!!!

EDIT: PS The location is great!!! Right off of US1 and bordering Cary for all the shopping you will ever need.

I lived at the Park Apartments And Suites Cary (1100 Audubon Parc Dr, Cary, North Carolina 27511) with a large American Staffordshire Terrier and they were fine with it. The guy across the hall from me had a large Golden Retriever. They were very pet friendly and everyone there was incredibly pleased with the service and management. It's also located on the little lake in Lochmere, so there is a lake with a trail around it where everyone walks their dogs on the weekend. If you're looking for something a little closer to RTP, I think that Preston's Reserve apartments on the Morrisville side of Cary also allow dogs, but their might be a weight restriction. If your dog looks about 65-70 lbs you should be fine there. Both of those complexes also have garages that you can pay extra for.

We stay in Courtney Estates in Brier Creek and I see big dogs (including a german shepherd) all the time. It's a GREAT location and convenient to RTP.

Northridge Crossings in North Raleigh - Don't think shepherds are on the breed restriction list.
