Not sure if anyone would find the vote total comparisons interesting but I suspect some would. It is interesting how few people voting have driven much of what is occuring and who is leading it.
I guess this implies that 3 members of the "old board" represent only 1% of the voters.
No, they represent the 99% of people who were too lazy to vote too. How embarrassing for our democracy that people don't value their right to vote and choose their government. Every election and every vote matter. Kwitcherbitching, get off your ass, and vote. It's not that difficult.

This is true for just about every election in our country.
<<sigh>>
But aren't some of the posts here doing that very same thing? How are we advancing the cause of civil discourse by doing the very thing of which we complain? If denigrating each other in public is what we loathe in our elected officials, then should we not abstain from it also?
Sorry, but making snipes at a bunch of people you likely have never met, from behind an anonymous screen name, when NOTHING is at stake except a "casual" discussion that any of us can walk away from at any time is hardly a parallel with the demeanor of elected leaders deciding the fates of thousands of their citizenry. And WE even have a moderator to "keep us in line"--who performs that function for the School Board? Oh, that's right, Margiotta, the Chair, a.k.a. one of the worst offenders of "civil discourse" and "transparent operations".

Sorry, Francois, but I think something is at stake when we set a tone for how we relate to one another as individuals, whether behind a screen name or in person. As someone once said, a true measure of character is how you behave when you think no one is looking. If we begin here by calling each other names, hurling insults, picking on physical characteristics, mocking accents, stereotyping based on which state you came from, etc., where will that tone, and the habits we hone online behind our screen names, ultimately carry us? It's not just civility at the school board that is breaking down. It's all around us.
I am totally on board with you. I researched the 2007 & 2009 voter numbers a long time ago when everyone was complaining about low voter turnout in 09.
My 1% comment was completely sarcastic because this whole voter turnout argument was getting to be like a fishing story in reverse -- 11% only turned out, then 8%, then 4%, then 1%. Heck, by the time next election rolls around someone might claim that only 4 individual voters turned out.
Thanks for providing the facts . I agree, some people might find the numbers are not what they expect.
I wish more people would look into the facts before siding with popular opinion and hearsay. The information is really not hard to find; but, it does require more effort than jumping on the bandwagon.
And if the hypocritical arguments (and there are plenty of them) don't come to an end - locally, regionally, and nationally - WCPSS hasn't seen the bottom yet.
