I don't have a lot of faith in this one happening... Although, I would love it!

It always IS a matter of opinion -- but it's usually the opinion of meteorologists.

At this point, the Triangle could go either way. We'll either get all snow, all rain, or rain/snow. The trends seem to be shifting this storm slightly east towards the coast...which makes all snow or rain/snow the more likely at this point. Regardless...if this thing bombs off the coast, we could be in for a world of hurt. Very heavy rain/snow and wind. Perhaps even some thunder. I think that's more likely along the coastal mid-atlantic though. QPF totals (total precip) when all is said and done could be over two inches for RDU...three inches might be a tad high, but not out of the question at the moment. That would be the equivalent of near 1-2 feet of snow. But, bear in mind, it may not be ALL snow. It could very well be 2-3 inches of rain...which is much needed for this area. And I really think it's going to be a mostly rain or all rain event here...but the mountains will get hammered.

We're still like, 4 days out, but it's something to keep an eye on.

Edit: Just saw NBC-17 comment that NCDOT is going to start laying the brine on Sunday!

Remember...bread, eggs and TOILET PAPER!

Sometimes I wonder if the weatherman is paid by the companies that make the bread, eggs and toilet paper!

I've been lucky enough to avoid accidents for the 8 years I've lived in Raleigh (except for the person that backed into my car in the parking lot - but I wasn't in it), but I know being out in messy winter weather would really press my luck.
From Knightdale, I'll take the left lane of 540, you take the right I'll let u know when I hit the road

What's that saying about thunder in winter? Do you count 12 on from the day of thunder and that's when we get more snow?
