Can anyone please tell me what area(s) around Raleigh are the most equestrian friendly? Or possibly an equestrian community close to good schools, etc...

Thank you in advance!

There is Portofino in Clayton off 42 East. Good schools.

I have started doing research on this topic myself. There are actually tons of areas in and around Raleigh that are "horse friendly". If you aren't set on Wake County, there are other surrounding counties that welcome horses with open arms as well. It's a very horsey area, which is one of the contributing factors for us looking at the Triangle as a relocation spot.
If you do a real estate search with a keyword of horse or barn, you will be surprised at the amount of homes that pop up. Even better when you do a map search.
The one area that I have not fully looked into is schools--which is a major factor that I need to look at myself (have a 6yr old).
Sorry I didn't officially answer your question, but it's a good area to be looking in for what you want.

Hunter/Jumper (dabble in fox hunting too). My daughter and I both ride and husband is just getting into it as well. You are always welcome to send me a PM.

Check out Black Horse Run in North Raleigh. They have a community barn but many homes have lots large enough for your own small barn. They have great trails too.

Franklin and Granville Counties are huge horse areas - horse farms and boarding all over. Franklinton and Youngsville have some great ones.

Check out NC Horse News (.com). A large portion of the area's horse owners pop onto that site once in awhile. There are some forum's you can post on for more information, and it includes all of NC.

May help you find a horsey community that shares your same equine values and interests.
