I have used Triangle Carpet Cleaners twice now. Husband and wife, husband comes out to do the work. He is professional, friendly and does a solid job. I paid $250 for four rooms and a stair case. It isn't cheap, but I won't use anyone else locally.

FYI to those who have a few hours and shop-vac, I used to use "professional" carpet cleaners and have never been real impressed with the results. Yeah, it appears clean and it is soft and fluffy but I can do that on my own. I treat the carpet like it's laundry. Here's how I do it:
First, I'll pre-treat any stains with laundry stain remover.
I pour a "large load" capful of laundry detergent into a bucket of hot water. I'll dip my long-handle brush into the bucket and start scrubbing repeating the process until the room is complete. After I'm done with the room I'll take my shop-vac and vacuum the room until it's dry and clean. Voila! Room smells fresh, carpet is soft and fluffy, and any stains are gone.
