I'm heading up to DC for about a week from the Durham Station Transportation Center this Wednesday and I'm trying to find a safe (but affordable) place to park my car until Monday afternoon. Is there a standard price and nearby parking that anyone could recommend?
The American Tobacco decks tend to keep their gate arms up after hours (assuming there is no DPAC event that day) and you can park in there. The decks are patrolled 24/7 by security, and folks that live in apartments at AmBacco also park there so you won't be the only overnight car in the deck.
If you're looking to leave during business hours, you're going to have to find something else. Durham's city-owned decks are well lit, but they only have someone on duty from 6am - 2am, so something left overnight for a week may get attention.
Is the old Amtrak lot across the street from the DSTC an option? I used to park there for weekends when I took the train to Charlotte. I see cars there all the time... I know the lot at the new Amtrak ststion is free and unattended, so Im sure you'll be fine there too.
There is also some street parking about a block away next to, and behind the BBT.
Id say American Tabacco, but I dont know for a whole week....
