Has anyone had experience with Towne Mortgage of the Carolinas, good or bad?

I am going to start looking for a house in the next few months and my realtor has mentioned this place as her favorite to work with. I'll still shop around, but thought I'd get any opinions also. Thanks!

There are lot of great mortgage brokers in this area, my favorite is Home

Get several quotes, in the mortgage biz they are called Good Faith Estimates (GFE). Although the rate is important, don't get hung up on it. Compare all of the points, fees, and other costs that are listed on the GFE. The GFE is standardized according to law so it is really easy to compare GFEs from multiple brokers.

Thanks, dedratermi! Its been several years since I bought and sold my last (and only so far) house, and even then I had to go with one of the builder's lenders so I didn't really shop around. Good to know for #2!
