The house we bought has several downed trees on it that I'm working on clearing out. Looks like it probably came down in Fran, so around 10 years old. One oak in particular is about 14" diameter, and although the exterior didn't look too hot, I about burned up my chain saw cutting through it. It is very dense and dry, seems like perfect wood for cabinet/furniture. Seems like it would be a waste to cut it up for firewood.
