UGH. I am sure she, as all parents would be, is disappointed in him and furious. Sadly, she's going to learn how horrible it is to be a public servant when personal problems arise.

I agree. People have free will. You can guide kids in the right direction, that doesn't mean they'll heed your advice. People can't be held accountable for the actions of their adult family members. If anything, I feel bad for her. It's terrible to have a loved one heading down the wrong path.
