I live in Cary in a house I've had for a year. There is not a lot of lawn - most of it is trees. I had a lawn service that took lots of my money and allowed my lawn to die, killed half of my lariope, and scalped my crepe myrtles. Now, I am interested in finding someone to help me restore and maintain my lawn. This person/company needs to have an open mind about trying new things. I am NOT interested in having a plush golf course, nor in watering, nor in chemical applications or any other high maintenance stuff. I want something green to cover the dirt. I have some buffalo grass seed that I'd like to try, for its high drought resistance and slow growing tendencies. Right now, what needs done is mow, aerate and seed the lawn. Then, hopefully, in 6 weeks or so, regular mowing once or twice a month can commence. Buffalo grass is a warm season prairie grass that should have been seeded in June, but I could not get my lawn service to do it. I hope I can still plant it and don't have to wait till next spring. If the buffalo grass doesn't work, I'll be looking at some other ground cover choices with my interest always in low maintenance and no watering. Other maintenance chores are leaf removal and general cleanup. Anyone interested in helping me out with this, please let me know how to get in touch. Thanks.
