I've visited a couple of time and fell in love with Raleigh. I'm single, in my early 30s with a little dog and moving in Jan. 2012. I will be moving without a job but with money saved. I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on job hunting, good locations for apartments, 30s lifestyle or any advice in general. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

what kind of work will you be looking for?
what kind of lifestyle do you envision?
what made you fall in love with Raleigh?

i just moved here from LA last month. my advice is start looking for jobs a few months before you move and put a NC address on the resume. i would also recommend finding an apartment somewhere close to shops/movie theater/etc. we got an apartment right behind crossroads plaza and we love it. my husband, who spent the past 30 years either in boston or LA, is actually transitioning well to the area b/c we feel like we're "in the middle of it all". good luck!

I will be looking for paralegal work
Live jazz, sports bar and whatever else Raleigh has to offer. I don't want to feel like I have nothing to do.
I fell in love with the people, the city and it's the feeling I got and always get whenever I'm there.

Thank you very much. That does help. I was thinking of flying back for a week in December and sign up with some temp agencies and looking at apartments.
