A friend of mine says they will be opening on the 18th. Anyone else hear this? It's going to be nice not having to through brier creek traffic to get some grass fed beef.

It's opening the 16th, but they're giving reservations-needed "behind the scenes" tours this Sunday and Monday. Supposedly having samples and takehome goodie bags. We're going... it's silly but why not?

I don't feel like Brier Creek has a ton of traffic, but I'm assuming you're talking about Earth Fare. I live within walking distance, but I'm moving to Six Forks in 2 months, so I'm especially happy for Whole Foods!

Their facebook page has a lot of good info, pics, features, etc. It's gonna be worlds better than that old, small location on Wade Ave.

Yea, Earth Fare is right. I like them a lot more than any of the Whole Foods in the area, but I really do hate the traffic and having to get on 540 to get to it.

Have you ever been to the Durham Whole Foods? That place is downright claustrophobic! I'll take the Cary one any day over that one.

The Whole Foods in Fairfax VA is amazing though -

65,000 square feet!

They should build one like that here!

Yes, it's awfully tight! Luckily they are expanding it into the whole building!

Yeah apparently it's 40,000 sq ft, roughly twice as big as the Durham one. Earth Fare is nice, but it's no Whole Foods. I've realized that after going there every week for 2 years. So much less selection and interesting items.

Cary was supposed to expand but the shopping center they are in went defunct. Now it is being remodeled but due to economy they have decided not to expand into a free standing building.
